Vincent, I just realised that I explained the wrong aphorism to you! Sorry – I wonder how confusing that was?
There are a few ways to view this contradiction, but one way could be if
the question were to reveal something negative in the heart of the asker, perhaps mistrust? The question once asked, regardless of the answer, will have consequence.
… I shall delete my ‘other’ explanation about the aphorism you asked nothing about…
